FERNANDINA BEACH – Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls franchise is opening the company’s 28th U.S. location.

People who live in Fernandina Beach, Florida or are visiting the area are in for a treat with the arrival of Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls. This fast-casual restaurant has become a beloved establishment for Floridians and people across the U.S. with locations. This is the sixth latest Mason’s opening in Florida, with more expected to open in the coming months. The Fernandina Beach location is situated in the historic downtown area and just blocks from the Amelia River.

Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is the real thing, honoring the values and traditions of actual Maine lobstermen. A decade ago, Dan Beck was a seafood buyer for local restaurants and traveled to Maine to source lobster. He forged strong relationships with the lobstermen, wanted to make succulent Maine lobster more accessible, and decided to launch Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls. It was such a hit, he began franchising so more people could get their decadent lobster rolls in their hands.

The Fernandina Beach menu features a variety of delicious lobster rolls and other dishes, all made with the sweetest lobster meat you can find, at a price point that’s hard to beat given the quality. The restaurant is generous with its lobster, too. Each roll is piled high with tender chunks of lobster. No skimping here. They stay true to their roots and want every visitor to feel like they just discovered the best value in the downtown area. People love Florida seafood. In fact, the modern American shrimping industry was born in Fernandina Beach. Mason’s holds its own here, and visitors will not be disappointed.

“Lobster is a delicacy, but that doesn’t mean it has to cost a fortune or require a reservation to eat it,” says Beck. “Mason’s exists to serve up high-quality lobster in classic New England recipes in a casual, friendly setting where people can sit back, relax and enjoy the food, scenery and each other without all the pretense. The Fernandina Beach location is an exciting addition to the Mason’s family, and we know people will love the authenticity and flavor of what we believe to be the best lobster rolls in the country.”

Amelia Island is a tourist destination, with Fernandina Beach being the main town with a rich history and plenty to see and do. Travel + Leisure lists it as one of the best beach towns in Florida for its beaches, history, downtown, and family-friendly atmosphere. From its many shops, galleries, restaurants and bars to its seasonal community activities like Sounds on Centre, Island Hop Beer Fest, and Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, downtown Fernandina Beach has something for everyone year-round. Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls is situated in a building over 100 years old, near the oldest, pre-prohibition bar in America.

As soon as you walk into Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls in Fernandina Beach, you’ll feel transported to the lobster shacks in New England. The decor, menu and vibe are as authentic as the menu items. It’s counter service, choose your table, and wait just a short time for lobster rolls that rival any you’d find in Maine.

Unlike some restaurants that only offer a couple of lobster roll varieties, Mason’s offers five different styles of rolls to choose from, and you even have the option to add 50% more lobster meat to any roll. The Classic Roll and the Connecticut Roll are both beloved by fans and what most think of when they think of a lobster roll. Each is prepared simply using classic ingredients to showcase the delicious 100% lobster meat. The Classic Roll is served chilled with creamy mayonnaise and tangy lemon butter, while the Connecticut Roll is served warm and tossed in rich butter. Both are made on a buttered, toasted, split-top bun. The Lobster BLT and Lobster Salad rolls are equally fantastic, and you can even get shrimp or crab rolls.

But don’t stop at the rolls! There are also fresh salads, including options with lobster, shrimp or crab, as well as lobster mac & cheese and lobster grilled cheese you must try. Even the sides are genuine recipes. The lobster bisque and New England Clam Chowder are divine and make a perfect side to a lobster roll. Kids have their own menu, too, including Nathan’s hot dogs and grilled cheese, sans the lobster. Enjoy a traditional Whoopie Pie for dessert and an Organic Maine Root Beer, fountain drink or beer or wine.

With so many delicious options and a relaxed atmosphere, Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls in Fernandina Beach is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You’re sure to find something to love as you walk around this vibrant area.

The Fernandina Beach Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls will be open 11am – 9pm Sunday-Thursday and 11am – 10pm Friday-Saturday at 708 Centre Street.
